They come in all different shapes and sizes, there is no board exactly like another, and this is something to consider when choosing a freeride snowboard. When you first start snowboarding, it's easy to be drawn to the longer boards because they look so fun! 1. Should the shape be directional or twin?

A directional board will have a shape that is designed to be more responsive than a twin. Directional boards are designed to rock back and forth while carving, and the tip will move up and down about the tail. 

2. What's the difference between camber and flat?

Camber is a newer trend among snowboards because it allows for better responsiveness. Camber gives you more pop off of jumps or when you're riding down a hill as opposed to a flat board, giving you more rolling resistance. 

3. How do I choose the appropriate size?

Looking at the width and length of your board will give you an idea of which size board will be ideal for you, but if that's not enough, consider these factors as well: 

Length should be measured from tip to tail. The width should be measured from nose to tail and toe side to toe side. The middle of your foot should also be considered when looking at how big your foot is compared to the width of your board since it is wider than most people's feet.
