Bryan Palmer graduated from the Information Science & Technology program at Temple University. During his time at Temple he worked with Microsoft as a Campus Representative and was President of the Association for Computing Machinery chapter.

Bryan was recognized with the Student Leadership Award from the Computer Information Sciences department for work with faculty, staff and peers over his academic career. He served on several technology planning committees and was a member of the Philadelphia Linux Users Group.

Bryan Palmer died unexpectedly on July 5, 2016 while hiking on Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France. He was an avid climber and had previously climbed Machu Picchu in Peru and a portion of Mt. Everest. Bryan was instrumental in the birth and growth of the first Wild River website and possessed an unflappable nature and pitch-perfect sense of humor.
