Wild River Review art by Christopher McCauley

Forgotten the old neighborhoods
the romances, heartaches
passed by
the glances
that incited fires
the sweaty brows
the deep breathing
all passed into yesterday
and to-day we sink
into our fears
and so our life is lost
in one mouthful of water
on the last step
also cracked.
