Wild River Review art by Christopher McCauley

Grief took you on her wing
and you unable to hold on
flew far away
with the wind’s breath
and you turned into shards, dust
by life’s combustion
and my eyes wept
when you entered them
to rest.
Autumn unsuspecting
journeys the last
parallel to the South.
