Wild River Review art by Christopher McCauley

Remember when you talked about enlightenment
you stubbornly denied
the face of truth
and you were left with your crippled thoughts
to straggle toward dead ends
among tides and storms
while I, insistent, registered
the past
and holding the moon I illumined
the catacombs where
you had been lost.
